Analytic Review: Blunt Chest Trauma: The Intensivist's Perspective

An overview of blunt chest injuries of particular interest to the intensivist is presented. These include injuries of the thoracic cage, pulmonary parenchyma, tracheobronchial tree, thoracic aorta, and heart. The discussion focuses on pathophysiological factors, diagnosis, and treatment.
