Uses and Abuses of Electrophysiologic Testing in the Management of Ventricular ArrhythmiasClinical Electrophysiology Laboratory Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Cardiovascular Section Department of Medicine University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine Philadelphia, PA 19104
Clinical Electrophysiology Laboratory Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Cardiovascular Section Department of Medicine University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine Philadelphia, PA 19104, The use of clinical electrophysiologic studies has evolved dramatically since Scherlag and colleagues [1] first reported His bundle recording in humans in 1969 and Wellens [2] demonstrated that pro grammed electrical stimulation could reproduce clinical ventricular arrhythmias. In addition to ar rhythmia diagnosis and serial drug testing, new mo dalities, including surgical therapy and devices for arrhythmia treatment, have been developed in the past few years.
